England to play Sri-Lanka in 2019 cricket world cup opener

Dubai: The 12th edition of ICC World Cup is kicking off on May 30, 2019 and 10 teams to compete in the cricket’s mega event. The very first match of championship is set to be played between host England and 1996 world cup winner Sri-Lanka.

As per report from local corresponded, 2019 Cricket World Cup host England will be playing Sri-Lanka in the opening match of tournament on 30th May. And fixtures of the event are set to be revealed in a few days.

On mail when we asked our Dubai, UAE reporter about the reports regarding 2019 world cup, he said that he contacted to an insider in the International Cricket Council office and tried to know what’s going on about future ICC events and world cup.

He got information about 2019 world cup fixtures from the insider who denied to reveal his identity. The insider said that fixtures would be announced soon as 8 teams out of 10 were confirmed. (See the mail screenshot in the image given below).

The insider told reporter, “Dates and matches fixtures chart has been prepared and ICC is about to declare it soon. The fact is eight teams of the tournament will officially be confirmed on 30 September 2017.”

“The only thing I can assure is England and Sri Lanka to play 2019 world cup opening match,” reporter reported.

The 2019 world cup will be played between 30 May and 15 July.
