2017 Indian Premier League title defending champion Sunrisers Hyderabad will be taking on Rising Pune Supergiants in the very first match of season on 5th April at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Vivo IPL-10 final is scheduled to play on 21 May.
As per our recent talk with a BCCI official, the schedule and fixtures of 10th Indian Premier League has been finalized and it will be announced in a short time span. The opening match of tournament will be played between title defender Sunrisers Hyderabad and one IPLT20 played team Rising Pune Supergiants on 5th April.
“IPL will be starting from April 5, Hyderabad and Pune to play first game of the season. The grand finale will be played on 21st May. It’s a 46-day tournament as we had to give time to players to get prepared for ICC Champions Trophy 2017 which is beginning from 1 June”, official shared info with Sports Mirchi.
“The interesting part of this year’s IPL is that there will be 15 double-headers. Playoff matches will be played from 16th May. First qualifier to be played on 16 by following eliminator on 17. Second qualifying game to take place on 19 May.”, the spoke person added who denied to reveal his name.

However the venues for playoff games are not finalized according to the BCCI official. He mentioned that playoff venues will be finalized in near future as we are planing that top team of playoff game will get a chance to play the match at home venue.
So according him if there is a playoff eliminator match between team A and team B. And team A secure third place in the points table, then eliminator match will be played at home ground of team A.
