International Football Federation FIFA on 19th August 2020 announced the qualifying rounds and teams draw for Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) for Qatar 2022 world cup. A total of 35 teams will be competing in the qualifiers to get 3.5 slots for 22nd FIFA men’s world cup.
Participating teams are categorized into 6 groups after the draw completion for the qualifying rounds.
First Round
First round matches are scheduled to take place in October and November 2020. 7, 8, 10, 11 and 13 October are the dates for first window for FWC 2022 qualifying games meanwhile 11, 13, 14 and 17 November 2020 will be the final dates slotted for 1st round CONCACAF matches.

Winner of each group will through to the second round of 2022 world cup qualifiers CONCACAF leg.
Second Round
In the 2nd round, six qualified teams from first round will play home and away leg games on the basis of pairing. These matches are due to play in March 2021.

Winner of all above three pairings on aggregate after home and away matches, teams will qualify for third round.
Third Round
As per FIFA rankings in July 2020, top 5 teams qualified directly for the third and decisive round for 2022 world cup qualification. United States, Honduras, Mexico, Costa Rica and Jamaica are placed in the 3rd round. A total of 8 teams to compete in the this round and rest 3 teams will come from second round.
First matches will be played in June 2021 and third round will conclude in March 2022.
Top three teams after completion of third round, will qualify for Qatar 2022 FIFA world cup meanwhile 4th placed team will have to play inter-confederation play-offs to be held in June 2022.
