Australia and Germany are going to meet in a friendly football match on 25 March, 2015 at Fritz-Walter-Stadion in Kaiserslautern, Germany. FIFA world cup 2014 champions will face one of the toughest challenges on Wednesday at their home ground when 2015 Asian Cup winner Australian team will be against them.
The match has been scheduled to kick off at 2:45 EST and 7:45 PM GMT. This is going to the third battle between these two teams and currently scores are at 1-1 level from previous two meets. Australian side will be missing their key striker Tim Cahill in this match as he is out due to injury. Matthew Spiranovic is also not available for Aussies in the match.
Bailey Wright, Oliver Bozanic are expected to play today’s game for Cahill and Spiranovic. Hector, Gotze and Badstuber will be the key players for Germany in tonight’s match. In last meet, Socceroos defeated Germany by 2-1 and they must be confident to do it again. Australian coach Postecoglou has believed that his team can beat world champions.
Postecouglou said, “We’ve had great moments before in our football history. We’ve capitalized on some of them, and some we haven’t. Now, we have to make sure that we do. We have never once talked about only stopping our opponents. It’s about taking our game to the opposition too, especially in friendly games.”
German coach Joachim Low has already confirmed that Manuel Neuer will not play today’s game hence Zieler will be keeping. Low also believes that Australia are good side and their performance was great in Asian Cup, hence its going be exciting match.
Low said, “Australia has always been a sporting country that never stops working. Socceroos performance at the Asian Cup was great. Australia had a typically British style, with long-balls, but now you don’t see that. They play good football.”
