Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes have played some tremendous innings on Friday night to hand over India heavy defeat as English team chased down 337 runs target in 43.3 overs. England got brilliant start in the chase as Jason Roy and Bairstow added 110 runs for the first wicket in 16.3 overs.
Rohit Sharma did excellent fielding at short mid-wicket to dismiss Roy on 55. After that India had to wait a long to get another wicket as Ben Stokes and Bairstow whacked Indian bowlers all over the park, especially spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Krunal Pandya. Kuldeep spent 84 runs in 10 overs while Krunal went for 72 runs in 6 overs.
England chased the target with ease and gave India third defeat in their 5 successive matches where they scored more than 300 runs. It was Indian bowling that caused the game. Winning toss, English skipper Buttler asked Men In Blue to set a target and India did pretty good job when put 336 runs on the board.
KL Rahul smashed brilliant hundred while captain Kohli missed his century again as he got dismissed on 66. Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya provided the much needed momentum to Indian innings.
