Belgium have won a thriller contest in the very last moments of the round-16 match as they defeated Japan by 3-2 to qualify for 2018 world cup quarterfinals. Nacer Chadli scored the winning goal for Belgium team and sealed quarterfinal spot.
At once, Belgium team was down to 2-0 in the second half as both team failed to score in the first half of this crucial knockout. After this, Genki Haraguchi scored first goal of the match for Japan in 48th minute. Just span of 5 minutes, Takashi Inui double the lead for Japanese team.
Elimination from world cup was around the corner for Belgium and Japanese team was set to create history. However things didn’t go like this and Jan Vertonghen scored the first goal for Belgium in the game and release pressure. Again just in five minutes span, Marouane Fellaini scored top class goal to get equalizer for Belgium.
The match was about to go in the extra time but Chadli scored fantastic goal on the counter attack to seal Belgium’s victory. Belgium will now be facing Brazil in the second quarter-final match of 2018 world cup on July 6. Brazil defeated Mexico to qualify for quarterfinal.
