Brazil national football team has become first side to qualify for 2018 FIFA world cup in Russia. Selecao beat Paraguay by 3-0 in Sao Paulo to enter in the 21st edition of world cup schedules to play between 14 June and 15 July next year.
With Brazil’s qualification, FIFA world cup 2018 has got 2 teams of the tournament as Russian football team will play world cup being hosts of the tournament. Brazil comes under South American Football Confederation from which a total of 4 teams will make cut to world cup while 5th place team to play inter-confederation qualification match to Oceania qualifier.
However Brazil team is yet to play four more world cup qualification matches against Ecuador, Colombia, Bolivia and Chile. Team registered 4-1 win over Uruguay last week to strengthen their chances for qualification and today they beat Paraguay to confirm their spot.
Brazil is the only country to appear in all football world cups since tournament’s inception in 1930. National team also won five FIFA world cup trophies over the years. Last time Brazil became world champion in 2002.
