South African Captain AB De Villiers has said that his team is confident for tomorrow’s semi-final clash against New Zealand. He said that team is feeling well and dressing room atmosphere is good for the big match tomorrow at Auckland. Destructive middle order batsman also mentioned if Proteas play according their potential they can beat any side on their day.
AB De Villiers said, “I feel the team is in a really good space at a really good time and we’ve got a lot of reason to be confident for tomorrow’s game. I’ve mentioned before that I believe, if we play to our full potential, nobody is going to stop us in this tournament.”
South Africa and New Zealand have met on three occasions in cricket world cups previously. NZ won all 3 matches against SA in last cwc meets. Both Proteas and Blackcaps have never played world cup final and will be desperate to win tomorrow to create history.
Vernon Philander’s inclusion has provided AB de Villiers an option to strengthen his batting line up as Philander is a good seam bowler and he can bat at the depth of overs. South Africa have been associated with ‘CHOKERS’ tag and they are up to remove that in this tournament.
De Villiers said, “I’ve gone through the whole package of feeling emotional about it, fighting against it, then accepting it, then fighting again. Honestly I’m not putting emphasis on that at this World Cup at all. I’m the guy who’s got to answer those questions, and I don’t mind doing that, but I know the squad is in a really good space.”
New Zealand vs South Africa match live telecast is scheduled to begin from 1:00 GMT around the globe on various television sets.
