England made 303/8 in Hobart: Bell made 141-First ton vs Australia

Ian Bell has scored 4th century in his career and first hundred in Carlton mid ODI tri-series match against Australia in Hobart. This is the first occasion when Bell hits a ton against Australian cricket team. Ian Bell becomes top scorer for England cricket team in One-Day Internationals as he surpassed Collingwood’s score 5092. He completed century in 92 balls. Bell made 141 runs in 125 balls with 15 fours and one six.

Ian Bell scored hundred to lead England past 300 against Australia.

Australia won toss and chose to field, but this decision didn’t go in their favor. Ian Bell and Moeen Ali gave hundred run stand for the first wicket. Moeen Ali got dismissed on 46 after facing 48 balls. England lost first wicket on 113 in 17.4 overs. James Faulkner took Ali’s wicket. James Taylor joined Bell but he wasn’t looking comfortably and dismissed on 5.

Ian Bell and Joe Root started to play sensibly and took team’s total past 200 in 33.4 overs. Both batsmen added 100 runs for third wicket partnership in 96 balls. Bells was dismissed in the 42nd over after playing highest run scoring inning of his career. He made 141 before Sandhu outs him. After this wicket fall, England captain came to wicket but couldn’t face more than one ball as Sandhu dismissed him on the very first ball he faced.

England batting again showed that why they are lacking to dominate as middle order and lower order completely failed. English team only managed to score 303 runs in 50 overs. They made 69 runs in last 10 over with the lost of 6 wickets. Australia has got the target of 304 in 50 overs.
