South African Twenty20 captain Faf du Plessis has hit his first century in t20 career today in Johannesburg against West Indies. Du Plessis becomes second batsman for South Africa to hit a ton in a t20 international match. Richard Levi was the first Proteas batsman to score hundred in a twenty20 game. Du Plessis completed his fifty in 23 balls.
Faf du Pleassis made 119 runs in 56 balls with 5 sixes and 11 boundaries. He completed his century in 46 balls and missed the record to get it as Levi scored the fastest t20 century in 45 balls against New Zealand. Du Plessis hundred took South Africa to past 200 runs in the match and after completion of the twenty overs SA made 231/7.
His hundred couldn’t save the match and West Indies beat Proteas by 4 wickets and won t20 series.
