The 17th edition of FIFA U-17 World Cup is scheduled to play in India from 6 to 28 October 2017. A total of 24 national under 17 football teams will be competing in the championship which will be played first time in India. Six venues will be hosting mega men’s youth football event.
Initially Azerbaijan, India, Ireland and Uzbekistan bid to host the 17th season of FIFA under 17 world cup but on December 5, 2013 football’s biggest organization confirmed that India will host their first ever biggest FIFA event.
There will be six Indian cities to host seventeenth edition of fifa under-17 football world cup. Kochi, Mumbai, Goa, New Delhi, Guwahati and Kolkata are the 6 confirmed venues for youth’s mega soccer competition. Initially 10 venues were chosen but the list was reduced to six.
However Federation International de Football Association selected Ahmedabad, Chennai, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram as alternative venues.
There will be 24 national men’s youth under-17 football teams will be competing in the championship. India was the first nation to qualify for event as they are hosting the tournament. Nigeria will be title defenders in the 2017 FIFA U17 world cup if they qualify.
