Harris replaced Mitch Marsh in Boxing Day test Australia squad

Cricket Australia has declared 13 members squad for the upcoming third test match of Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2014-15. Ryan Harris has been called back in the Australian bowling attack as Mitchell Marsh got injured during the second test in Brisbane. Joe Burns also included in the Australia team for Boxing Day test match who may make debut for the country.

Ryan Harris included in Australia's third test against India in Border-Gavaskar trophy 2014-15.

Australian coach Darren Lehmann said, “You’re always trying to look ahead when you can, but you’re still living in the moment. We think he’s the best man. He can fit anywhere from one to six (in the batting order).

He gives us a little bit more flexibility compared to the other two … and it’s a chance to play a guy who is young.”

“When I saw him play, I thought he could really play at the next level. It’s taken him a while, he’s had some ups and downs like all players do. Now he’s put his name up at the right time,” he added.

Ryan Harris was not a part of Australian squad in the 2nd test match at Gabba. Lehmann said, “Ryan Harris bowled with Peter Siddle this morning. Will make a call closer to Boxing Day about our final XI.”

Australia’s 13-man squad for 3rd test:

  1. Steve Smith (Captain)
  2. David Warner
  3. Chris Rogers
  4. Shaun Marsh
  5. Shane Watson
  6. Brad Haddin
  7. Joe Burns
  8. Mitchell Starc
  9. Mitchell Johnson
  10. Josh Hazlewood
  11. Ryan Harris
  12. Peter Siddle
