Good news for all Indian football fans based in West Bengal and Guwahati as the city is confirmed to host national team’s 2022 world cup qualifying fixture against Oman. India vs Oman football match is scheduled to play on 5th September 2019 at Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium at Sarusajai in Guwahati.
Assam Football Association (AFA) general secretary Hemendra Kumar Brahma said that association is doing every possible effort to fill the stadiums for Indian team’s crucial game on Thursday, 5th September. Local footballers Halicharan Narzary and Vinit Rai have been featuring in the posters designed for the match to attract crowd.
“Tickets prices are kept economical to attract more people to the stadium and we’re trying our best to bring as many as fans for India-Oman game. Bengal people love football and the aim to keep prices low is to offer fans a good chance to see their role models like Sunil Chhetri playing live in front of their eyes. Top authorities, officials and celebrates are welcomed as well to Indira Gandhi Stadium to catch India’s first qualifying match for 2022 Qatar,” Brahma said.
The prices for this world cup qualifier match are nominal and it begins with Indian rupees 50. There are three prices 50, 100 and 200. The fifty rupees ticket is valid for only students. 23,000 tickets have been printed for the match and out of these, 15000 tickets will be available for sale to public meanwhile rest 8000 are reserved for officials and celebrities.
Tickets can be purchased from the counters before few days back of the start of game.
India and Oman national football teams will reach to Guwahati on 2nd September.
