BCCI confirmed that Indian Premier League’s 12th edition will be held in India itself and tournament won’t be shifted to other country despite general elections in the country. Earlier there were speculations that IPL 2019 would be shifted to South Africa or UAE, but BCCI ends all rumors and confirmed that tournament will be hosted in the nation.
It is also proposed that this year’s edition will begin on 23rd March. The supreme court appointed committee COA took final decision on the IPL-12 venue and discussed the complete scenario about the event. Final schedule and matches of 2019 Indian Premier League will be announced in due course.
In 2009, IPL tournament was hosted by South Africa due to general elections and then in 2014, event was organized in two parts as UAE hosted the one part.
Indian Premier League starts in the first week of April and final concludes in the final week of May. But this year it can not be happened as ICC World Cup to play from 30th May and according to the supreme court appointed committee, there has to be a gap of 15 days between IPL and international fixture.
