Japan have announced 31-member squad for the upcoming 2019 rugby world cup. Michael Leitch will be leading hosts in the ninth edition of RWC starting from 20th September. Japanese rugby team is confident about this year’s tournament and their coach Jamie Joseph believes that national team will reach to quarter-finals.

“The team has set a goal of making the top eight for the first time in the history of Japanese rugby. The staff and players will give 150 percent – whether that’s enough only time will tell. Our game is based around speed, skill and structure,” coach Joseph said.

Japan will be playing Russia in the opening match of world cup tournament at Tokyo stadium. Home team to face Ireland, Samoa and Scotland in their group matches at the pool stage.
