Pollard hit 6 sixes against Sri Lanka in T20 match at Antigua

West Indies’ destructive middle-order batsman and T20I captain Kieron Pollard has become third international cricket to smash six 6s in an over during first twenty20 match against Sri Lanka in Antigua. During sixth over of the run chase, Pollard took charge against Akila Dananjaya and hit sixes on each ball of the over to lead his team towards victory.

This was the second occasion when a batsman achieved the feat in T20 internationals as before him, India’s Yuvraj Singh smashed 6 sixes in an over against England during ICC T20 World Cup 2007. Pollard was awarded player of the match for his 38 runs innings in 11 balls.

Host Windies won the toss and asked Sri Lanka to put runs on the board. Sri Lankan side got good start after losing Danushka Gunathilaka in the 3rd over. Dickwella and Nissanka took team to 71 in 10 overs. After that both these batsmen dismissed in quick interval and visitors lost their way to get good total.

Sri Lanka managed to put 131 runs on the scoreboard after losing 9 wickets. Then Caribbean team chased the target with 41 balls remaining in the match. At one stage West Indies lost 4 wickets on 62 score but captain Pollard’s sensational innings helped team to chase down total successfully.
