Korea Republic has qualified for the third successive time in the semi-finals of AFC Asian Cup. Son Heung-min was the star for South Korea in quarterfinal against Uzbekistan as he scored two goals in the extra time of match. This leads Korean football team to defeat Uzbekistan by 2-0 in the quarterfinal game played at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium in Australia.
It was a great quarterfinal match and both teams played good football throughout the 90 minutes. Both halves were goal less even though South Korea and Uzbekistan got chances to score the goal. The match went to the extra time and this time Uzbekistan couldn’t control their nerves.
Son Heung-min got the chance in 104 minute to hit the goal and he scored first goal of the match for Korea Republic. After this he got one more chance just before the ending of match in 120th minute and he again scored the goal successfully. Hence South Korea defeated Uzbekistan by 2-0 score to reach in the semi-final match to be played on 26 January at Stadium Australia.
