In an interview with Sports Radio 88.9 Brila FM, Former coach of Nigerian women’s football team Ismaila Mabo has shown faith in the rising star player Asisat Oshoala. Mabo believes that Asisat will be the key player for Super Falcons in upcoming women’s FIFA world cup in 2015 at Canada.
Ismaila Mabo said, “Asisat is the new revelation in women’s football in Nigeria. She has the energy and the talent to succeed and I am confident she will make an impact for Nigeria at the World Cup next year.”
Asisat Oshoala has played some great football for Nigeria in 2014. She was the high goal scorer and best player in FIFA U-20 Women’s world cup 2014.
“I think our women have done well this year. They’ve been able to regain our lost glory especially in the hands of Equatorial Guinea , they’ve gotten their bearings,” he added.
Nigeria is in group D of 2015 women’s FIFA world cup where they’ll face Australia, United States and Sweden. Super Falcons will play first match against Sweden on 8 June at Investors Group Field.
