Tokyo Olympics 2020 will not be further postpone as governing body is not having ‘plan B’ to delay games one more time. This year’s summer Olympic games were rescheduled last month due to coronavirus pandemic and are set to take place next year from 23rd July.
“We are working toward the new goal. We don’t have a B Plan,” the spokesman of Tokyo Olympics Masa Takaya said as per reported by Apnews.
In a recent interview of International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach to the German newspaper Die Welt, he was asked about the possibility of games to be postponed. However he didn’t answer properly but said, “could not manage a postponement beyond next summer at the latest.”
Since the dates for Olympics and Paralympics have been finalized, it would not be further postponed even though situation doesn’t change in upcoming 15 months.
“All I can tell you today is that the new games’ dates for both the Olympic and Paralympic Games have been just set up. In that respect, Tokyo 2020 and all concerned parties now are doing their very best effort to deliver the games next year,” Takaya said.
