It was an easy for Pakistan as they beat South Africa comprehensively by 49 runs. Winning the toss, Men In Green chose to bat first and team posted 308 runs on the board. Credit goes to Haris Sohail’s hard hitting and explosive innings of 89 runs in 59 balls. He hit three sixes and nine fours in the match winning innings.
Wahab Riaz and Shadab Khan were good with the bowling efforts as both bowlers took 3 wickets each meanwhile Mohammed Amir dismissed 2 Proteas batsmen at the top. South Africa are not known for chase and this was proven in tonight’s game as well. Proteas managed to score 259 runs in 50 overs for the lose of 9 wickets in reply to 309 target. Hence lost the match by 49 runs.
Pakistan was luck enough today as fielders drop catch a lot which didn’t cause at the end. The dream of qualifying for semifinals is still alive for Men In Green and they have to win their next 3 matches to give them chance of making it into knockout stage.
