Portugal creates history as they have defeated hosts France in the final of UEFA European Championship 2016 to claim their first ever Euro Cup trophy. Eder was the man of the moment as he scored brilliant goal in the extra time of Euro 2016 final to give his team a lead of 1-0 which was enough for champions to beat France in the finale of tournament.

However team didn’t lose their hopes and substitute Eder hit the goal. Eder couldn’t make to the starting XI for the match but he was introduced as the substitution of Sanches in the 79th minute.

After winning the cup, Ronaldo showed his happiness and emotions through tears and celebrations. He got very sad when his team lost Euro 2004 final against Greece. But this time, Portugal didn’t make mistake and performed well to become champions of Europe Football.

The star forward dedicated this win to his country and all the Portugal fans. “It was not the final I wanted but I am very happy. It is a trophy for all Portuguese, for all immigrants, all the people who believed in us so I am very happy and very proud,” Cristiano added.

Pepe said, “It was tough to lose our main man. The man who could at any moment score a goal. He could make the difference but we were warriors on the pitch. We said we would win it for him and we managed to do that.”

With this win, Portugal has qualified for FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 which is set to be played in Russia. This is the first occasion when Portugal will play Confederations Cup.
