Roger Federer eyeing at 5th Australian Open Title in 2016

17 Grand Slam champion and 4 time Australian Open winner Roger Federer has said that he is ready for the big challenge to clinch fifth Australian Open title this year. Speaking in press conference ahead of tournament’s beginning, Federer mentioned that he is feeling fresh and now desperate to get into good form to get better results from the starting of 2016 year.

Roger Federer will face Georgia’s Nikoloz Basilashvili in the first round match of 2016 Australian Open on 18 January. Swiss star believes that first grand slam of the year, inspires him more and would be looking to start with win.

He said, “I would think the Australian Open is the one where players come in maybe most inspired. It’s also been my most consistent Slam maybe until last year. I always played very well here. I don’t know if it’s the conditions or the court speed. It’s a good place for me to start the year.”

Some of the media persons were eager to know about his plans regarding current world no. 1 Novak Djokovic as in recent past years Serbian star her performed very well against him. To this, Switzerland champion player said that he would focus more on his game rather than thinking about others.

“I’m more focused about my own game than any other player. Last year I did quite well against Novak. Of course, I got to keep it up. I always believe there’s new things you can learn, but there’s always sometimes a way of staying motivated, staying hungry. Someone like Ivan can also help do that,” Federer added.
