Sharapova beats Bouchard in quarterfinals at 2015 Aus Open

Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova has beaten Canada player Eugenie Bouchard in the second quarterfinal of 2015 Australian Open today here at Melbourne. She defeats her in direct sets by 6-3, 6-2 and maintained her dominance throughout the match.

After winning the match Maria said, “I felt pretty good from the start. I kept my focus throughout the whole match. I had to produce a really good performance against Genie, she’s been playing so confidently and aggressively.”

Maris Sharapova now qualified for Women’s singles semifinal match to be played on 29 January. She will face her home-mate Ekaterina Makarova to make it in the final match. Both Maria and Ekaterina are Russian players hence Maria glad to know that her country will represent in Australian open 2015 final.

Sharapova said, “It’s nice to know a Russian will be in the final representing the country.”

Eugenie Bouchard couldn’t play at her best against Maria. After the match she accepted that she was under the pressure from the starting of game and she was desperate to win but failed to do it.

Bouchard said, “I felt under pressure from the start. She didn’t give me many chances. I could’ve done better so I’m disappointed with that.
