Tournament favorites South Korea hasn’t lost single group match in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup and team coming into knockouts by defeating China PR, Kyrgyzstan and Philippines in the group round games. Other side Bahrain secured third place in the group stage table and they were on the top position among the groups to be placed on 3rd position.
South Korea won first two events of Asian Cup back in 1956 and 1960 and team will look to repeat the glory in this year’s competition. “They have defeated top teams like former World Cup champions Germany at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, but we are not unduly daunted. Our qualification from Group ‘A’ proves that we are capable of matching the best teams. We want to take another step forward and are very motivated to achieve our goals. The chances are equal between our team and South Korea specially when it comes to knock out stage, so whoever performs well will win,” Shaikh Khalid said.
