Indian Premier League chairman Brijesh Patel has confirmed that 13th edition of prestigious t20 league will take place in UAE and dates are almost confirmed for the showpiece event. In a report published by IANS, he said that IPL governing council will take final decision next week in the meeting.
IPL 2020 is all set to be played from 19th September with opening game to take place. Final is scheduled for November 8 according to Brijesh Patel.
“We have had a discussion and we are looking at the September 19 to November 8 window for this edition of the league. We have informed the franchise about the same,” Brijesh Patel quoted as saying by IANS.
All 8 IPL franchises have been informed about the same and now final decision is due to happen during the meeting taking place next week. On participation of foreign players in the league, he said that Australia-England series to be completed by 15th Sept. so players can directly fly to Dubai.
On the other side, Caribbean Premier League 2020 final to be held on 10th September, so rest of the players playing in both the league, can easily fly to UAE for IPL-13 participation.
“Shouldn’t be a problem. The England-Australia series ends on September 15. So, we should have them flying in directly to Dubai. We will discuss the final matters in the governing council meeting next week,” he added further.
