Will Yuvraj Singh play for India in 2015 cricket world cup? Well this question is on boom since December-January but people stopped to talk about it when selectors ignored Yuvraj when the team was announced on 6 January. But in the past 6-7 days the question is again rising as there are few players in Indian cricket team who are facing injuries and it can cause them ruling out from mega event.
Yes, Yuvraj Singh can come back. As per the reports in the current Indian world cup squad there are four players Ravindra Jadeja, Ishant, Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Rohit Sharma have been facing various injuries and it can open door for other players to get placed in team India for world cup 2015.
These injured players will have to prove their fitness on 7 February before the starting of cricket world cup warm-up matches from 8 Feb. It is much expected that Mohit Sharma will replace Ishant Sharma in Indian team. In recently finished triangular series Mohit bowled well and he has got good pace to replace Ishant in the world cup bowling attack.
Ravindra Jadeja’s injury is not hidden from anybody and if he fails to prove his fitness he’ll be replaced by Yuvraj Singh as per the news spread. BCCI officials and selectors haven’t commented on this but after Yuvraj Singh’s back to back three hundreds in Ranji season can bring him in the squad. Yuvraj Singh was man of the tournament in 2011 world cup and played crucial role for India to win world cup.
As per the reports Rohit Sharma will be a part of the Indian side in world cup but but but if he has to prove fitness too. If Rohit gets failed to pass the fitness test, Selectors may think to send Virender Sehwag or Gautam Gambhir to represent India in world cup. Team think tank can also call Murali Vijay as an opener who played good innings on Australia’s tour in test matches.
The picture will clear on 7 February when fitness test will be done.
