Australia vs Sri-Lanka warm up match ICC Champions Trophy 2017 preview

Preview

Two time Champions Trophy winner team Australia will look to make right batting and bowling combination before getting started with the main tournament in England. Aussies have got firing batting power lineup that has Warner, Finch, Lynn, Maxwell, Head and Smith. There are the top class batsmen in the side who will look to get settled with English conditions against Sri Lanka in the warmup match.

David Warner was the highest run scorer in recently concluded Vivo IPL 2017, hence he is going to be key player for Australia in the tournament. Along with him, Finch, Lynn and Steve Smith are the backbone of Kangaroos in the championship. Fast bowling depends on the experienced shoulders of Starc, Hazlewood and Hastings. These are going to be prime pace bowlers in the side.

However still there are more bowlers like Pattinson, Soinis and Henriques in the roster who can contribute well for Men in Yellow. Henriques and Stoinis will play as the all-rounders in the side. Adam Zampa is the only major spin bowling option in the team while Maxwell can produce some overs in the middle.

On the other side, young Sri-Lankan side will be playing under experienced Matthews leadership. He’s going to be crucial player for Lanka with bat and ball in the tournament. Lasith Malinga is another key experienced player in Lankan camp. Apart from these two, Lanka will hugely be relying on Chandimal, Tharanga, Dickwella, Kapugedera, Perera and Kulasekara.

All of these players have been associated with national side for quite decent time and have the experience to play under such English conditions. Hence these are the crucial players for Sri-Lankan team.
