Bhakti Sharma sets Open Water Swimming world record in Antarctic Ocean

Indian swimmer Bhakti Sharma has broken the world record of Lewis Pugh and Lynne Cox here on Tuesday at Antarctic Ocean. The Open Water Swimmer has set a new world record by swimming 1.4miles in 52 minutes. Bhakti becomes first Indian to achieve this eventually first girl in Asia to get such kind of milestone.

Bhakti Sharma is the youngest swimmer in the world to achieve this success.

On her success Hindustan Zinc CEO Akhilesh Joshi said, “We are very proud of Bhakti Sharma for this rare achievement. The whole country is proud of her and particularly girls who would be seeing her as inspiration to join swimming. Her achievement only proves that given the right support and opportunities, India can produce many such talents.”

She has been doing Open Water Swimming since past 10 years and Bhakti Sharma has swam four oceans before Antarctic. Hence now she conquered all the five oceans.
