ICC approves Mohit Sharma’s replacement in Indian squad

International Cricket Council has approved face bowler Mohit Sharma’s replacement in Indian cricket team for the 2015 world cup. Mohit has replaced Ishant Sharma in team India as Ishant has been facing knee injury since the Boxing Day test against Australia.

Yesterday Ishant failed to pass fitness test and Mohit’s name was forwarded to ICC for the approval.

ICC said in a release, “ICC has confirmed that the Event Technical Committee of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 has approved Mohit Sharma as a replacement player for Ishant Sharma in India’s squad for the tournament.”

The event technical committee of ICC consists of Geoff Allardice (ICC General Manager – Cricket, Chairman), Campbell Jamieson (ICC General Manager – Commercial), John Harnden (Chief Executive, CWC 2015 LOC), Gavin Larsen (Cricket Operations Manager, New Zealand), Russel Arnold and Sanjay Manjrekar (independent nominees).
