India beat Bangladesh by 109 runs to face Pak/Aus in semis

Indian cricket team has defeated Bangladesh in quarter-final match of ICC world cup 2015 to seal consecutive second berth in semi-final. India is the defending champion and winning this match they have set up semifinal match with either Pakistan or Australia. Rohit Sharma was declared player of the match for his brilliant 137 runs inning.

This was consecutive seventh win in tournament for Men in Blue and it’s special moment for MS Dhoni as he has won 100 ODIs as Indian cricket team skipper. Dhoni’s luck has been playing role throughout his career and today in crucial knockout game, he won toss and chose to bat first. Team India‘s batting first decision was proven right when opener Shikhar and Rohit gave good start and both made 70 plus score in 16 overs.

After this India lost Shikhar and Kohli in quick session of 4 runs. Then Ajinkya Rahane was also dismissed after scoring 19 and Indian side was struggling at 115/3 in 28 overs. Then Rohit and Suresh Raina built 122 runs partnership. It helped India to put 302 runs on scoreboard for the loss of 6 wickets in pressure match.

In the chase of 303 runs target whole Bangladesh team got all out in 45 overs after making just 193 runs.

Umesh Yadav took 4 wickets in Bangladesh innings whereas Mohammad Shami and Ravindra Jadeja shared 2-2 wickets each. Mohit also took one wicket. Winning this game, India have through to the semi-finals and will face tomorrow’s quarter-final winner in semifinal on 26 March, 2015.
