Mr. Manohar said, “India-Pakistan may play 5 ODIs, 2 T20Is in December if govt approves Depending on what happens to series against Pakistan, we have to take a call. We need government permission to play against Pakistan and Board decision will be as per the government stand.”

As per report published on Indian Express, India may play Pakistan for 5 One Day Internationals and 2 twenty20 internationals in the December month window when Indian team will not be playing any sort of cricket. After diwali festival, BCCI secretary and BJP MP Mr. Anurag Thakur will meet Union Home Ministry to talk on the fresh proposal for India vs Pakistan cricket series.

If government doesn’t approve 5 ODIs and 2 T20s series then BCCI will also make new proposal of 3 ODIs and 2 twenty20s.

BCCI and PCB signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) last year in which it was contracted that Pakistan would host India for 2 tests and 5 ODIs in December 2015. But after political tensions and issues between both countries government enforced BCCI to rethink about the series.

Before few weeks back PCB chairman Mr. Shahryar Khan visited India to meet BCCI president for the talks of cricket series. But a group from Shiv Sena protested in BCCI office in Mumbai and didn’t let both supremos to meet. Meeting was cancelled and it was rumored that series would not be happened. But now after BCCI’s statement it seems that series can be happened if Indian government approves it.
