India should Respect Proteas bowling, Especially Steyn: Sachin Tendulkar

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has advised Indian team to play sensibly against quality bowling attack of South Africa. In Headlines Today TV show Sachin asked batsmen to stay calm and quite against pacey Proteas bowling, especially against Dale Steyn. He also mentioned that Steyn is SA’s strike bowler and batsman can’t pre-determine against him.

Sachin tendulkar advises Indian batsmen to pay respect South Africa bowling in 2015 world cup.

Sachin said, “You can’t pre-decide how to play Steyn, he could also have a bad day, you have to decide in the moment but you have to respect Dale Steyn, you need to be watchful upfront but take your opportunities. Without any doubt he’s their strike bowler. He’s bowled unbelievably well.”

He also guides Indian batsmen to believe themselves and take opportunities whatever they get against Proteas bowling. 2011 world cup winning champion further explains that South Africa is far better team then Pakistan and it won’t be easy to take singles against strong fielding side.

Tendulkar said, “It won’t be so easy to pick singles. They (South Africa) are much faster, their throwing arm is more powerful and their outfielding … they cover the area much better than Pakistan.”

Sachin also backs Rohit Sharma to play good cricket in the upcoming matches of 2015 world cup. He also faiths in Indian team and believes that team may play like Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

Legendary cricketer also mentioned India needs to play like a team they can’t rely on individual performances to win the mega event. He said, “(But) To win the World Cup the whole team will have to play consistently play well… It’s not just about a couple of individuals.”
