Australian cricketer David Hussey has been appointed as the chief mentor of Indian Premier League Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of upcoming IPL 2020 season. KKR also announced former New Zealand fast bowler Kyle Mills as the bowling coach for next edition.

“It’s great to welcome David Hussey and Kyle Mills to the Knight Riders family. They bring a wealth of experience as professionals and are terrific individuals. We are confident that their contribution as part of the think tank of KKR and to the KKR Academy will be invaluable,” KKR CEO and MD Venky Mysore said in a release.

David Hussey played IPL league for Knight Riders during 2008 and 2010. He’s played over 300 franchise twenty20 cricket matches and experience of those would help young players in the KKR team. Hussey played for Australia’s national team as well.

On the other hand, former Blackcaps bowler Kyle Mills represented national team from 2001 to 2015 and became second most successful bowler of New Zealand in ODIs. Few weeks back, KKR appointed Brendon McCullum as head coach.

Kolkata Knight Riders won two IPL trophies in 2012 and 2014. So it’s been five seasons for them to claim trophy and will be interesting to see if these top cricketers would lead them to get glory in 2020.
