“It’s a huge opportunity for England at 2019 World Cup” – Jos Buttler

England wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler believes that national side has great chance in the upcoming cricket world cup to be hosted in the country. In an interview to International Cricket Council (ICC), he mentioned that he is excited for the upcoming mega competition and hopes that England can lift the trophy this time.

“It is a huge opportunity and we all want to play a part in an exciting time for English cricket. It’s a huge year, but for us, it’s a case of focusing on the here and now because we don’t want to get too far ahead of ourselves. We’re aware of how quickly things can change in cricket and you can come unstuck,” Buttler quoted as saying by ICC.

English cricket team to play lot of cricket in upcoming weeks ahead of ICC world cup. Team is currently on the Caribbean tour and there will be three tests, 5 ODIs and 3 T20Is. Last T20 will be played on March 11th and then after England to host Pakistan for five One-Day Internationals in May.

Jos Buttler emphasis on players busy schedule ahead of world cup and he clearly mentioned that players must look after themselves to keep fit and fresh for cricket’s gala event.

“There is lots of cricket coming and one of the things both captains (Joe Root and Eoin Morgan) and management have done is look after the players. We have to be fresh and excited going into the big events.

We don’t want people to be too tired but there’s a fine balance between doing too much and too little.”

England will be hosting 2019 world cup from 30 May to 14 July.
