Jamaican national football team defender Michael Hector believes that national team can qualify for 2022 world cup in Qatar. After thrashing Cayman Islands by 4-0 in Sunday’s game, Reggae Boyz star player Hector has mentioned that country has got good players who can deliver top class game to make it through world cup qualification.

Hector looked pretty positive about Jamaican team’s qualification for 2022 FIFA world cup in a recent report published by The Gleaner.

“We should be qualifying for 2022 World Cup finals because we have been to two Gold Cup finals and we are not a bad team, but we just need to put the consistency together and do it in the World Cup qualifiers, because we have done it the Gold Cup,” Hector said.

Michael Hector was absent from national side from past two years but he returned to Jamaican line-up and would be a crucial player when world cup qualification begins.

“The local players from Jamaica are training very well and it is good to see that they are testing themselves, because there are more personalities, and, for me, the standard is getting better. I think we are in a good place for the next World Cup qualifiers,” he added.

Jamaica appeared in only FIFA World Cup Finals in 1998 where they managed to win just one group match. Hence team would look to do well in the qualifiers to strengthen their qualification chances.

The 22nd edition of soccer world cup is scheduled to be hosted in Qatar during November-December time period.
