“I know that the work ahead of us will be difficult, but our goal is clear. I am sure we have the potential to book a place at the 2022 World Cup. We want to make the Iranian people happy,” Skocic said during the interview.

April’s qualifying matches were postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic and now are rescheduled to be played in November 2020. Though Iranian Premier League is kicking off next week.

Iran is at third place in Group C and they’ll have to win next four matches in world cup qualifying round to reach next level.

FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifying matchdays 7 and 8 are set to take place on 8th and 13th October respectively meanwhile 9 and 10 matchdays to be held on 12th and 17th November.

“We have a short time to prepare for the matches. We will invite the players who are well-prepared and the door is open for all players. We will monitor the league and the best players have the chance to be called up to the national team. It doesn’t matter which team or league the players are playing,” he added further.
