The UEFA Euro 2020 which was originally scheduled to take place last year but didn’t happen due to COVID-19 pandemic, it will kick off on 11 June 2021. As per latest developments, it is found that European football governing body is keen to organize the event in 12 cities. A member from UEFA chief executive committee has said that board is very keen to work with 12-city plan.

“The goal remains to be able to hold onto the mode of the event,” Rainer Koch, a vice president in the German federation (DFB) was quoted as saying by dpa.

Final decision on hosting the event will take place in upcoming few months.

On Sunday, UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin said that crowd should be there in every game of Euro 2020.

Without fans, there will be no match.

“We have several scenarios, but the one guarantee we can make is that the option of playing any Euro 2020 match in an empty stadium is off the table. Every host must guarantee there will be fans at their games.”

All interested European cities need to submit their plans before 7 April so that board can take final decision before 20 April when UEFA congress to take place.
