Pakistan beat South Africa to return strong in 2015 world cup

Pakistan cricket team has defeated South Africa in the 29th game of ICC cricket world cup 2015. PAK registers a big win of 29 runs against strong Proteas team to show that they are not behind in the tournament and desperate to qualify for quarterfinals. Winning this game they have got much closer to the knockout stage of competition. Sarfraz Ahmed was declared Player of The Match award for his all-rounding performance.

After winning toss South Africa chose to bowl first and their decision was proven wrong at the end of match as it was quite difficult to bat under lights for Proteas against Pakistan’s seaming attack. Doing bat first Pakistan team all out in 46.4 overs in a 47 over per side match. In rain interrupted game match was reduced to 47 overs. PAK got bad start and they lost early wicket on 30 when Abbott dismissed Shehzad.

Pakistan got some useful contributions from Sarfraz Ahmed, Younis Khan, Misbah and Shahid Afridi to put team’s total past 200. Misbah-ul-haq scored the only fifty in Pak’s inning. First time appearing in the tournament for Pakistan, Sarfraz scored 49 runs in 49 balls. He hit three sixes and five fours which surely inspired Pakistan batting line-up for the rest of 2015 world cup.

At the end of inning, Pakistan managed to score just 222 runs on the board but due to reduction of overs to 47, Pakistan got additional 10 runs in their total and they put a challenge of 232 against South Africa in this crucial game. Dale Steyn took 3 wickets in Pakistan innings.

In the chase of 233 score in 47 overs, South Africa lost Quinton de Kock in the very first over of match. After this Amla and du Plessis built a partnership of 67 runs for second wicket. Then both Faf du Plessis and Hashim Amla were dismissed in consecutive 10th and 11th over. South Africa lost 4 wickets in the quick session of 10 runs and now their total was 77/5 in 16 overs.

South African team was relying on Captain AB de Villiers and he delivered as well as he scored 77 runs in 58 balls but he couldn’t make his side through to the winning end. After playing 33.3 overs whole Proteas team got all-out on 202. Hence Pakistan beat South Africa by 29 runs to gain confidence for further matches. Mohammad Irfan, Wahab Riaz and Rahat Ali took 3-3 wickets each to confirm PAK victory.
