Match details

The match will start on 10th of June and will be played at Fatullah. It will start at 10am local time, which means it will start at around 9:30 am Indian Standard Time. This will be the only 1 Test match of the series.

Preview

India will look to start their campaign well before a busy schedule waiting ahead. Bangladesh may not be a big threat in the Test matches, but playing at home, Bangladesh, on a given day, can be as good as anyone. They had a decent run against Pakistan few days back, but Indian team in the sub continent will be a hard nut to crack.

K Rahul has been ruled out of the match due to an injury and Pujara will now be back after his stint with Yorkshire. Md. Shami was also not picked because of the injury. Harbhajan Singh was picked because of a number of left handers in Bangladesh lineup and it will be interesting to see if he gets a game or not. With Ashwin’s place almost certain, it will be a toss between Karn Sharma and Harbhajan, after Jadeja was left out of the squad.

On the other hand, Bangladesh will be without the services of Mashrafe Mortaza, who is injured and also pacer Shahadat Hossain has been left out to accommodate Rubel Hossain.

Earlier it was said that BCCI might give a chance to senior players in this series, as a sort of farewell but nothing like that happened as BCCI has announced a full strength squad.

Squads

India:

Virat Kohli (Captain), Vijay, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Saha, Ravi Ashwin, Harbhajan Singh, Karn Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav, Varun Aaron, Ishant Sharma.

Bangladesh:

Mushfiqur Rahim (Captain), Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Mominul Haque, Mahmudullah, Shakib Al Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Shuvagata Hom Chowdhury, Litton Das, Taijul Islam, Jubair Hossain, Rubel Hossain, Abul Hasan and Mohammad Shahid.

Predictions

This should be a relatively easy one for Indian cricket team. But they should not take Bangladesh lightly. However, Bangladesh has got no serious chance of causing an upset, simply because the pitch will is expected to be slow and spin shouldn’t bother Indian batsman a lot.

As far as percentage is concerned, Indian team has 99% chance of wining the match. India has got nothing to win here. A win won’t get them any credit but a loss here may raise many questions against them.
