England name squads for Pakistan series 2015 in UAE

England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have announced the official team squads for the upcoming series against Pakistan in United Arab Emirates (UAE). Destructive Nottinghamshire opening batsman Alex Hales has been included in the declared 16-man England squad. Spinner Zafar Ansari is also picked in the test team for UAE tour.

This is the first occasion when Alex Hales is included in test squad and is expected that he may get a chance to debut for the country. Zafar Ansari will also be making his international debut for England if team management picks him in the playing XI insights of Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid. While announcing the squads, National Selector Mr. James Whitaker has mentioned that Alex Hales has performed well in the first class season for club which enforces selectors to pick him for Pakistan series.

Mr. Whitaker said, “Alex Hales has scored heavily for Nottinghamshire in First Class cricket this season, has shown he can play match-winning innings for England in white ball cricket and fully deserves an opportunity to compete for a place at the top of the order in our Test side.”

On the inclusion of third spinner Zafar Ansari Mr. James remarked that the conditions in UAE would be favoring the spinners and Ansari could play the vital role.

“The challenge we face against Pakistan will be very different and the composition of our squads reflects the conditions we expect to encounter in the UAE. Zafar Ansari’s potential excites us and he will provide strong competition for Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali in the Test squad after enjoying an excellent domestic season with both bat and ball for Surrey,” he added.

England will be playing three tests, four ODIs and three twenty20s against Pakistan in UAE. First test match of series will be played from 13th October, 2015.
