Andy Murray claims first Clay Title in BMW Open at Munich

Finally World no. 3 tennis star Andy Murray has claimed his first clay crown by winning Munich Open today. In a rain interrupted final, British number 1 defeated Philipp Kohlschreiber in the final match by 7-6 (7-4), 5-7, 7-6 (7-4) to win BMW Open.

The final match was scheduled to play yesterday and rain arrived when German Kohlschreiber was leading by 3-2 in the first set. Rain was too heavy that match is resumed for Monday.

The 1st set went into the tie breaker round in which Murray maintained his dominance and win it.

In the second set, Kohlschreiber battle hard and win it by 7-5 and take the match into third set. It was tournament deciding set and the 3rd set became really exciting as both players fought well. This set also went in the tie breaker round and Murray hold his nerves and win it.

Hence Andy Murray wins first clay title in his career. Now both Kohlschreiber and Murray will fly Madrid to take participation in the Mutua Madrid Open. It is expected that these two players will meet in the second round of Madrid Masters.
