India Test Squad for first three tests against England Announced

BCCI announced lengthy 18-member squad for the upcoming three test matches on India’s tour of England 2018. To the surprise, selection committee included wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant as the second keeper in the team as the backup of Dinesh Karthik.

Rishabh Pant was leading run scorer for Delhi Daredevils in Vivo IPL 2018 and now he’s got a chance to play for India in the red-ball format.

Limited overs series has been concluded on this India’s 2018 tour of England as Men in Blue won T20Is series by 2-1 but lost the One-Day series with the same margin. And after the decisive ODI game, MS Dhoni took the ball from umpire after the match which made cricket fans thinking that he might announce retirement.

If we actually look at the roster, we’ll find Indian team will be having 10 front line batsmen in the squad along with potential all-rounders like Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja. Ashwin and Jadeja have been included in the Indian test roster and both of these will be eager to perform well for India to make selectors think to take a call on them to play in limited overs-cricket.

Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah have been recalled in the side as both bowlers were facing injuries and now they’re fine and will be playing test series against England.

Shardul Thakur is also named in the squad meanwhile Ishant Sharma gets a chance to play. Will be interesting to see if these two bowlers make it to starting playing XI or not.
