Misbah-Ul-Haq is the new head coach and chief selector of Pakistan

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have appointed former cricketer and captain Misabh-ul-haq as the head coach of national team. He was also announced as the chief selector of Pakistan cricket for next three years. Misbah was the front runner in the post of being appointed as head coach and all rumors of his appointment have proven correct.

I know expectations are high, but I am absolutely ready and up for the task otherwise I would not have thrown my name in the hat for one of the most challenging and coveted roles in Pakistan cricket,” Misbah said on his appointment.

PCB also announced ex-cricketer Waqar Younis as the bowling coach for three years contract. Waqar served national team as the one of top fast bowlers in the country and he was the head coach of national team twice in 2010-2011 and 2014-2016.

Waqar Younis not only coached Pakistan team but he was involved in the franchise t20 cricket in the coach role. He was coach of Pakistan Super League’s Islamabad United team with whom Misbah was also associated as the player and captain. Younis was in charge of Bangladesh Premier League’s Sylhet Sixers club.

Misbah and Waqar are the notable names in the Pakistan cricket in the respective batting and bowling fields. Appointments of these two will definitely help Men In Green and youngsters in improving their game.
