Mohammad Irfan ruled out from 2015 World Cup Pakistan squad

Pakistan cricket team has got big blow ahead of 2015 world cup qualifier clash as their prime fast bowler Mohammad Irfan has been ruled out from the tournament due to injury. Irfan got a stress fracture of the pelvis which led him to exit from ICC world cup. Pakistan physiotherapist Brad Robinson confirmed Irfan’s exclusion.

Mohammad Irfan ruled out from 2015 World Cup Pakistan squad.

Brad Robinson said, “This injury rules Irfan out of the World Cup.”

Mohammad Irfan didn’t play last pool B match of Pakistan against Ireland and Ehsan Adil replaced him in that game. Hence we can expect that Adil will be playing against Australia on 20 March in third quarter-final of world cup.

Pakistan team management hasn’t asked for replacement yet from PCB. They are awaiting for the result of knockout match against Australia and then they’ll think about it. Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed this news.

PCB said, “The Team Pakistan think tank is not immediately asking the selection committee back home for a replacement, but shall wait until the result of the Friday’s quarterfinal encounter against Australia to do so.”

This is the third exclusion from Pakistan’s original world cup squad due to injury. Mohmmad Hafeez and Junaid Khan were the other two players who were out from competition due to injury.
