Qatar invites Indian 1983, 2011 cricket world cup champions for 2022 FIFA World Cup

FIFA World Cup 2022 Chief Executive Officer Nasser Al Khater has invited India’s cricket world cup winning team members from 1983 and 2011 events for the showpiece event in Qatar. According Mr. Khater, Qatar world cup is for all to celebrate and he’s not only invited Indian cricket world cup champions but also extend invitation to footballers from the country.

“I did not realise how big cricket was in India, so I know that there are some members from the 1983 World Cup winning team, that beat the West Indies, are here (at the awards function), and there are members from the team that won the cricket World Cup in 2011,” Khater said during an award function.

“I extend you a special invitation to come and attend the football world cup in Qatar. It is safe to say that this world cup (in Qatar in 2022) is for all of us to celebrate. I think I have to say, we look forward to welcoming you there in Qatar,” he quoted.

India’s greatest all-rounder and legendary cricketer Kapil Dev lead India to win first cricket world cup in 2011 meanwhile country won second ICC World Cup under MS Dhoni’s leadership.

The 22nd edition of FIFA World Cup is going to the first tournament to be held in an Asian country.
