Serena & Venus sisters qualify for 4th-round in 2015 Aus Open

Serena Williams and Venus Williams have been qualified for the round four at Australian Open 2015. William sisters showed good tennis skills at Melbourne Park today to make it in the final 16 of Grand Slam. America’s Serena defeated Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina whereas Venus beat Italy’s Camila Giorgi in the third-round of 2015 Aus Open to make it through fourth-round at Melbourne.

Serena Williams

Serena Williams played today’s match just like the previous round as she started slowly in the beginning of game. Elina Svitolina took advantage of this and won first set by 6-4. After this Serena Williams comeback in the match and she defeated Elina in next two sets to win the match by 4-6, 6-2 and 6-0.

After qualifying through 4th-round of Australian Open Serena mentioned that her elder sister Venus Williams motivated her to win the game. She said Venus is not hundred percent fit and she is going through illness. When she watched Venus to win the match in this condition, she got motivation to do better and win the round-3 game against Elina.

Serena said, “I saw (Venus’) score and thought ‘Wow she’s winning, well I can do better. I thought, ‘Wow, she’s been through so much with her illness, with everything that she’s had to do. Gosh, if she can do it, I’m perfectly healthy, I’m fine. I should be able to do it, too. It just got me so motivated, really helped me push through those next two sets at a rapid rate.”

Venus Williams

Serena believes that Venus motivates her to win and Venus thinks that Serena inspires her. Well this is the love and respect for both the sisters to each other. Venus Williams defeated Camila Giorgi in the direct three sets round-3 match. She beat her by 4-6, 7-6(3) and 6-1 score line. Venus also lost first set in the match but she geared up in the second set and won it in exciting thriller. In the match deciding third set seven-time major winner defeated Camila comfortably by 6-1.

After winning the game, Venus said that Serena always motivates her to do better each and every time in the court. Aggressive game from Serena always inspires Venus.

Venus said, “I’ve been motivated by Serena though since day one, since ’97. She’s always been I think someone that anyone can learn from. The way she faces her life, the way she is fearless on the court.”

“I probably take it a lot more to heart because she’s my sister and we’ve had the fortunate relationship to be able to motivate each other and grow from each other. I don’t think I could have done the things I’ve done without her,” she added.

Venus Williams now looking forward to win the round-4 in Australian open. She said she is always hungry to win titles whether tournament is small or big. She said, “I do my best every single day. That’s pretty much the way it goes.

I think just not being afraid is the most important thing.”

“I like to win titles, whether it’s a smaller event or a big event. That’s what I play for. So, yes, great, it’s great to be in the second week but is fourth round my goal when I come to these tournaments? No.”

Venus Williams will play Poland’s Agnieszka Radwanska in the fourth round of Australian Open 2015.
