Malik, Azhar, Tanvir may play for Pak in 2015 cricket world cup

A good news for three Pakistani players Shoaib Malik, Azhar Ali and Sohail Tanvir as Pakistan Cricket Board has declared that these three players can be sent to Australia/New Zealand to represent country in 2015 cricket world cup. As per the news published on PTI the decision is made after consulting chief selector, Moin Khan and team management who are currently in the New Zealand for two ODI match series.

Malik, Azhar and Tanvir are stand-by for PAK in cricket world cup 2015.

A PCB source told PTI, “Malik, Azhar and Tanvir have been told to be on standby so that if some players have fitness issues in World Cup,the team management wants to be sure they can get quick replacements if required.

Currently Pakistan team is facing injuries and some of the players are not still fully fit to play. Captain Misbah-ul-Haq’s fitness is also doubtful but hopefully he’ll be fit before world cup. Already Pakistan has replaced Junaid Khan for the upcoming two odi match series against New Zealand. He got ankle injury and will not be able to play.

Bilawal Bhatti replaced him for two One-Day and if Junaid fails to prove his fitness before cricket world cup he may be ruled out from the competition and Bilawal may stay together with Pakistan side in the world cup.

The reports are also informed that Shoaib Malik can be introduced in the PAK’s world cup squad if team management believes that extra batman is needed.

“The tour selection committee has given its consent for these players but will let the board know about the final two names when required.”
