Former Pakistani cricketer Mansoor Akhtar has been alleged to offer match fixing during Global T20 Canada League. Umar Akmal who is among the nine Pakistani cricketers participating in Canada’s twenty20 league, has reported PCB and tournament officials that ex-Pakistani player Mansoor Akhtar had reached to him for fixing.

Umkar Akmal told league’s anti corruption unit that two people contacted him and offer fixing. One is former Pakistan test cricketer Mansoor Akhtar meanwhile other is from India, namely Krish. Mansoor represented Pakistan in 19 tests and 41 ODI matches between 1980 and 1990.

We try to get into the matter and one of the officials from PCB confirmed Sportsmirchi that Umar Akmal reported that matter to PCB and we’d try best to look into the allegations. “We’ve received a report from Umar and he’s mentioned that he was approached by two people including ex-cricketer. We’ll get into this matter as soon as possible and complete the investigation,” he said.

The members of the anti corruption unit in the Global T20 Canada league have instructed all participating team players to stay away from Mansoor Akhtar and Krish. Younger Akmal brother reported PCB that Mansoor offered him to get involved in the corruption.

Mansoor Akhtar doesn’t live in Pakistan now and he’s based in United States of America. He was associated with Global T20 Canada league team “Winnipeg Hawks”. Mansoor isn’t seen after this incident. He admits that he met with Umar but didn’t offer anything regarding the allegations.

International Cricket Council (ICC) also tried to contact Mansoor Akhtar regarding the matter. Interestingly Umar was picked in the Hawks side and he was reached by the Akhtar.
