Kolkata to host India’s first Day-Night test match

Kolkata’s Eden Gardens is all set to host first ever day-night test cricket match for team India in November 2019. Once again it will be historic moment for the venue which hosted India’s first ODI day-night cricket match as well in 1994.

BCCI new president Sourav Ganguly confirmed the news as he said that upcoming India’s second test against Bangladesh will be played under lights and Kolkata to witness historic test cricket. Bangladesh to play India two test matches and the day-night game to be played from 22 to 26 November.

This would be the major development in Indian test history as players were avoiding playing day-night day since long but thanks to new BCCI president who convinced skipper Virat Kohli. Pink ball will be used for this 2nd India-Bangladesh test that is scheduled to start at 2 PM IST.
