DR Congo football team has defeated home side Equatorial Guinea in the third/fourth place match of 2015 Africa cup of nations on 7 February at Nuevo Estadio de Malabo in Malabo. In an exciting thriller DR Congo attained 3rd place in the tournament by beating hosts by 4-2 in the penalties after full time score levels at 0-0.
Both teams tried hard to score the goals in match but defence was showing quality and didn’t all opponent’s strikers to hit the goal.

After completion of full time both sides went into extra time but extra 30 minutes also couldn’t help the teams to score the goal. The game was now in penalty shoot out to decide the winner.
In the penalties starting two penalties for both sides gave the same result but for DR Congo it came in positive way and home team Equatorial Guinea failed to score goals in the first 2 penalties. After this Juvenal hit the goal for hosts.
At the end DR Congo won by 4-2 in the penalty shoot-out to get third place in the competition. Final match of Orange Africa cup of Nations will be played on 8 February 2015.
